Our history

In 1989, Mrs. Janine Grant and a group of volunteers from the north of Mauritius realized that many children in the village of Trou-aux-Biches were not attending school or were severely behind academically. They opened a small reading workshop in the courtyard of the parish of Notre Dame de Fatima, with just 14 pupils.

Today, the association welcomes more than 130 students every year, young people aged 11 to 18 from disadvantaged backgrounds, supervised by 15 teachers. Under the presidency of Pauline Martin and the direction of Maryline Lamy, more than 2,000 students have found their way back to confidence and success.

Our aim is to help them progress, blossom and become tomorrow's citizens in a welcoming environment adapted to their needs, pace and reality.

"Thanks to support based on love, respect and valuing each individual, more than 2,000 students have found their way back to confidence, self-esteem and success."
